Spend the budget where it counts.
Every putter is designed to a budget: not money, but mass. The head weight is what feels right in your hands; it’s what your stroke and your feel are calibrated to. Too light, and short putts need a longer swing that invites error. Too heavy, and they need a swing so small it brings problems of its own. The sweetspot sits around 350 grams: the weight of a repeatable, confident stroke.
Within that budget, a putter has to do two jobs. First, the necessity: a structure, with a face to strike the ball, alignment features to aim it, and a frame to carry the weights. Second, the point of it all: performance and forgiveness, engineered in.
You want to spend as little of the budget as possible on the necessity, leaving as much as possible for performance. So the structure is built from the lightest material strong enough for the job: carbon fibre, the material aerospace runs on. Every gram it saves is invested in high‑density metal weights, positioned to engineer maximum stability and forgiveness into the putter.
That is the idea behind every Adam David putter.
